Rohini was born in a small village in West Bengal to an impoverished family and was unable to receive an education. However, her family was able to secure a good marriage for her, and she was able to live happily with her husband for some years. Unfortunately, their joy did not last long and Rohini and her husband suffered the pain of losing their infant daughter to illness. In his grief, Rohini's husband lost control of his motorcycle on his way to work and too left this world. Rohini was in unbearable pain losing both her daughter and her husband. Her family wanted her to remarry, as she was only in her early 30s, but she could not bear the thought. She left for Radha Kunda so that she could dedicate the rest of her life to her spiritual pursuits, and live with family members in the area. Not long after, they too pressured her to get remarried. Knowing this was not her path, she left, unsure of where to go.
She was able to find our RadhaSeva community where she has been able to continue her spiritual pursuits while making an incredible impact supported the widowed women of Radha Kunda and cooking for those in need of daily meals.
